This picture is mostly for family use. I wanted you guys to see where I spend my Friday nights. Tonight was the Jitterbug pajama party. I've never been so comfortable at a dance before. It was fun as always. I won a major award in the raffle, Pantyhose!! I saw some old friends. About five years ago my Bible study went swing dancing. The group ended not long after that. I didn't try dancing again until little over a year ago. Tonight the former leaders of the group came down and danced. It was so great to see them again. I think I'm going to be able to steel some better pictures later so stay tuned.
After danceing some friends came over. In fact they are over right now. We decided on ordering pizza and watching a movie. In case anybody wants to know Papa Johns is the only place delivering after 1am . They are watching Dukes of Hazard. I'm just not getting into it.
Yahoo!! I have successfully stolen my first set of pictures. I went to Robin's caroling party on Saturday. It was so much fun. Caroling is one of my favorite things to do during the Christmas season. We sang around her neighborhood, came back and eat snacks, and played some games. I didn't know half the people there but there was still a good portion of Jitterbugs.
On Thursday I tried salsa dancing for the first time. I went with a group of friends. This is Venche, Hugh, Jenny, and Olin in the picture. It was fun to try something different and it would be a good way to learn isolations. I think however; that I'm going to stick with my swing dancing. The culture at Jitterbugs is much more appealing to me.
On Tuesday my friends and I did a little Christmas shopping. We went to Walgreens so I could find a secret Santa. Robin is so sweet. She was trying to help me out. I decided to get a Christmas CD instead.
This was a nice day. I wanted to see my friends but I needed the rest. I got some good family time in. My dad and I washed my car, got some lunch, talked, and watched a movie. It was fun. I don't get to spend much time with my dad. He was able to meet Jenny which was cool. I hope he didn't scare her too bad. My mom came over later. The two of them have not seen my apartment since I moved in so that was also good. Time to start another week.
I don't really have anything to say. I'm just bored. Jenny is not coming home tonight so it's been quiet. I've talked to a couple friends on the phone, watched Survivor, cooked, and did some cleaning. If I was at my parent's house right now I'd be playing cards or listening to my mom talk about her day. I should take this opportunity to catch up on some reading. I haven't been reading as much as I used to. I've had the book Jesus the One and Only for awhile now. I don't know why haven't gotten into it yet. It seems like it will be really good especially since it's written by Beth Moore. I love her. I love the way she takes you on an adventure. She has such a great sense of humor and she's real. I just realized what time it is. Maybe I will not get to it tonight. I need to get some sleep. It's going to be a long day tomorrow.
This has been some what of a depressing day. Another participant left unexpectedly. Sometimes people come and go but there are those that get under your skin. She is a very special person and touched so many lives at the program. Seeing her leave was a very emotional process for myself, staff, and other participants. We had special things that we would do together and words that would mean secrete things. She is the second one in several weeks. I was just starting to get over loosing the last one. At least this time I was able to say good bye. I'm really going to miss her.
Venche had some of jitterbugs over at her house last night. It was fun. We played cards and danced in her basement. This is Venche dancing with Hugh.
It is about 1:25 am. I just finished 5 hours of dancing. I'm so tired. Can I go to bed? Nope. There are people here dancing in the kitchen and giving piggyback rides in my living room. I asked for this so I can't complain. It's great to have people over.
This place is starting to get overrun with Christmas stuff. It's great to be putting up decorations. I put this village up last night. It's small compared to my parent's Dickens village. I am very proud however that my village has a Santa clause riding a motor cycle through town. The snow is a little too big so it's hard to see the people. Jenny keeps saying that everybody is caught in snow drift. I think I'm going to try and find some animals for it. It also needs a lake.
